Let There Be

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light….And God saw everything that He had created, and behold, it was very good ~ Gen. 1:3, 31

The beginning creation was based on the phrase let there be. This simple, but powerful phrase, created all that we know today! There is a knowningness and expectation, which comes with this phrase. When we speak the words, let there be, we then step into being what it is we desire. Let there be peace, for example, focuses both our thoughts and actions onto peace- peaceful thoughts and acts which support peace. It is all encompassing. We don’t say “let there be peace, except for this one situation, which I just know there could never be peace in.” Even if we’re in a difficult situation, when we use let there be, it is with the hope and expectation for something greater, for us to be something greater. Let there be, focuses us, not others around us. It is in this focus, we first change ourselves and then, by virtue of the ripple effect, we change the situation. Others may never change, that part is never really up to us. Only our emotional state, attachment and response is. If you affirm peace, with the phrase Let There Be Peace, then you move into just being peace.

Is there a situation in which you need to use the phrase let there be…?
